Venue -River District Beach
River District is Southeast Vancouver’s newest and largest waterfront community. River District, an award winning project being developed by ParkLane Homes, will be a complete community with unique sustainability features. Covering 130 acres and including 7,000 homes, River District will include shops, restaurants, schools, daycares, parks and a community centre.
ParkLane created the River District Centre to provide a community space and to showcase the project. The Centre offers a variety of events and activities including yoga, movie afternoons and arts and crafts. Adjoined to the Centre is Romer’s Burger Bar, which specializes in burgers, created with local ingredients.Currently, Polygon Homes, River District’s first builder partner, is constructing New Water apartment homes and River Walk townhomes.
Parklane also has a number of community partners, including Urban Rec. Steps from the Centre are Urban Rec’s Beach volleyball courts. These 12 courts, located along the Fraser River, are the perfect spot to bump, set and spike away an evening.
